One day with young reporters of project « Sur les pas d’Albert Londres »

Five young reporters from the project “SUR LES PAS D’ALBERT LONDRES” made several reports yesterday, in the « Montagne Bourbonnaise ».
They interviewed two majors about the problem of windmills.
After having placed eight windmills in three communes, the number of people that lives there has reduced. People are saying that the noise created by these windmills is distrurbing them. The major of Laprugne (Eric Duray ) agrees about having the windmills, more over, there are four windmills .The commune owns the land where there are two. The major of Lavoine (Jean Dominique Barraud) disagrees with windmills because of the noise, and the fact that they want to preserve landscape.
They also spoke about the problem of uranium residues in the lake. In the Montagne bourbonnaise, near the commune of Lavoine, there is a lake over an old uranium mine. 1.300.000 tons of radioactive uranium residues are under the protection of a 18 hectars large lake. In this case, the two majors agreed about the problem of this lake. There is a new law and ‘AREVA’, the French company in charge of nuclear affairs, wants to empty the water from the lake and the dam. The construction works, will cost 15-20 million euros. The two majors told to us that the dam is solid and that would be a big problem for people there if ‘AREVA’ empties the water. Radioactive dust may arrive with wind and with air, and many people would suffer.
Afterwards they met the other participants of the project in front of the house, where father of investigative journalism Albert Londres was born.
